A renovation and extension to the rear of a heritage Victorian terrace in Carlton North, Melbourne. This project is for a young family returning to Melbourne with two young children.

A generous splash of colour was injected throughout the project, creating a playful, uplifting environment.

Behind the historic terrace, the two-storey extension utilises the full width of the site, doubling the house footprint. With stringent heritage controls, the entire new work cannot be seen from the street front. A bicycle-friendly new entry to the dwelling has been created off a generous rear laneway.
